Radiology

A radiological technologist can be defined as someone who “uses x-ray equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases or injuries.” A radiologist is someone who is responsible for evaluating the patient’s condition and explaining the condition and corresponding x-rays to their patients. Like many careers, a radiologist must first attend and complete radiology school. Choosing a radiology school is often a very difficult decision and can at times be very frustrating. Here are some things to consider about radiology schools and about the radiology field:

  • Radiological technologists should enjoy working with people on a daily basis and should have a real interest in the medical field. Because working with people is the basis of a radiological technologist’s job, to be successful in this career you must be very friendly and helpful to everyone that you meet.
  •  Part of a radiological technologists job is to be very careful and to pay attention to detail. Individuals who pursue this career should be very thorough and should have the patience to learn proper procedures and duties.
  • A main part of a radiological technologists job is to assist the radiologist and surgeon in performing procedures when imaging equipment is needed. Radiological technologists need to be able to effectively take orders from other people and be quick learners.
